Restrictions are Placed on Output Generated from a Watermarked Input PDF

When working with an existing PDF containing a watermark, restrictions are placed on the output PDF, such as commenting and signing, though no additional security settings have been applied.

Probable Cause

Toolkit automatically substitutes fonts found in input PDFs with native fonts when generating output. In some scenarios, substituting watermark fonts results in an issue in which additional security settings are applied to the output PDF.

This issue has been resolved in Toolkit 4.5, with the addition of the FontSubstitution property. By setting this property to 0, fonts in the input file will not be substituted and input watermarks will not be altered.
