1796 Printer Error

Example error messages:
Msg-----Printer Not Found: DocConverter!
Msg-----AddPrinter Failed(Printer=DocConverter): 1796


  1. Make sure the print spooler service is running:
    Server Manager > Configuration > Services > printer spooler

    Remove the registry key that applies to your product:

    • If troubleshooting DocConverter:
    • If troubleshooting Server or Meridian:
    • If troubleshooting WebGrabber:
  2. Restart the ActivePDF Services.
    Note: Restarting the service recreates the registry key.


This KB applies to both 2009 and 2013 products.
