In addition to the exciting new features and major architectural transformations represented in Portfolio 2009, each product will include several bug fixes and the obsolescence of several properties and methods. Additionally, Portfolio is now offered in two editions, in support of varying deployment needs. Please select from the links below to view new features, as well as links to the scheduled bug fixes and deprecated calls for the editions of activePDF Server, WebGrabber, and DocConverter included in each edition of Portfolio. NOTE: Portfolio 2009 also includes Toolkit 4.6 Standard edition (Professional edition in Portfolio 2009 Enterprise), which is now also compatible with Windows® Server 2008. For more information on the enhancements and bug fixes included in Toolkit 4.6, please visit KB #12132.

Portfolio 2009 bundles activePDF Server 2009, WebGrabber 2009, DocConverter 2009, and Toolkit 4.6 Standard.

activePDF Server 2009


New features in the Server 2009 release include:
  • Microsoft® Windows Server 2008 compatibility
  • 64-bit support
  • Support for Japanese operating systems
  • PDF standard compliance settings (e.g. PDF/A)
  • Improved output control capabilities, including the ability to generate black & white output only
  • XPS to PDF conversion
  • PCL to PDF conversion
  • Improved administrative console
  • Email and FTP output settings
  • Enhanced error handling and logging
  • Native .NET API

activePDF WebGrabber 2009


New features in the WebGrabber 2009 release include:
  • Microsoft® Windows Server 2008 compatibility
  • 64-bit support
  • Support for "Intelligent PDF" conversion options, including active hyperlinks
  • Increased header and footer control
  • Increased support for double-byte characters
  • Streamlined document processing engine, removing the activePDF Server prerequisite
  • Enhanced error handling and logging
  • Native .NET API

activePDF DocConverter 2009 Enterprise


New features in the DocConverter 2009 Enterprise release include:
  • Microsoft® Windows Server 2008 compatibility

  • Inclusion of a new document processing interface, to improve conversion speed
  • Support for the UNC naming convention in "watched folders"
  • Faster "Intelligent PDF" conversions
