Answer

Windows displays the following error message:

"Retrieving the COM call factory for the component with CLSID {E86E003D-0513-4BD8-B750-269E59970FBC} failed due to the following error: 80040154."

This error indicates that the OCX for Server (see the above referenced GUID) failed to be registered or the OCX is not in the referenced location.

NOTE: If the GUID is different, look it up in the Registry to resolve which OCX/DLL the error is referencing, then perform the following action to register the file.

To resolve this issue, log in as a Local Administrator and confirm that the Server OCX (APServer.ocx) is in the system32 directory. Then run the following command, where windowspath is the installation path for Windows® :

Regsrv32.exe windowspath\system32\APServer.ocx

NOTE: The installer for the Remote Client performs this operation at the end of the installation process. Failure of this step would indicate that the user account used did not have sufficient permissions to perform the installation.
