Answer

This error typically occurs as a result of WGIELogin information not being entered or having been incorrectly entered. If information has been incorrectly entered, the data entry error is not detected as Internet Explorer User Setup does not confirm the information upon entry.

NOTE: WebGrabber version 3.8.2 and above confirms that the WGIELogin account information is a valid Local Administrator account, in order to prevent incorrect information from being added.

To confirm that information has been correctly entered:

  1. Download activePDF Support Tools 1.2.3 (.zip file) from http://www.activepdf.com/AltDownloads/Products/SupportTools/1.2.3/Support Tools 1.2.3.zip. Once the download is complete, unzip the file.
  2. Click Start, point to All Programs, Accessories, and then click Windows® Explorer. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory C:\Program Files\activePDF\SupportTools.
  3. Locate the Support Tools .exe in the directory. Replace the existing Support Tools .exe with the newly downloaded SupportTools1.2.3.exe file.
  4. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory C:\Windows\System32.
  5. Locate the WGUID.dll file. Replace the existing WGUID.dll file with the newly downloaded WGUID.dll file.

NOTE: If required, rename the existing WGUID.dll to WGUID.old before moving the new WGUID.dll file into the directory

  6. Run Support Tools 1.2.3 by clicking Start, pointing to All Programs, activePDF, and then clicking Support Tools.
  7. Navigate to the WebGrabber section of the Support Log. If the Internet Explorer account information is in error, a warning message will be issued against the Internet Explorer User Login.
  8. If an error exists, select Utilities from the Support Tools menu bar, and run the IE User Setup utility to correct the information.
  9. In the Support Tools menu bar, click File and select Refresh Support Log. Confirm that the warning against the Internet Explorer User Login has been removed.
