How do I manually locate my machine's Ethernet MAC address for Toolkit?

Product Version
Toolkit Std
Toolkit Pro
4.0
4.0 SR1

Description

Typically, we recommend that you use the Ethernet MAC address that is automatically returned by the Toolkit installer, as displayed on the screen prompting you for the license file (.LIC) location.

Otherwise, you can retrieve the correct address manually using one of the following methods. Be sure to properly format the MAC address prior to generating the license file, as described below. To locate the MAC address using the command prompt:

  1. Click Start, point to Run, type CMD, and then click OK.
  2. In the command prompt, type ipconfig /all, and then press Enter.
  3. From the Ethernet adapter section, record the Physical Address.
  4. Remove all hyphens ("-") prior to generating the Toolkit license file.

To locate the MAC address using the System Information dialog:

  1. Click Start, point to Run, type msinfo32, and then click OK.
  2. In the left pane, click to expand Components Network, and then click Adapter.
  3. From the right pane, record the MAC Address.
  4. Remove all colons (":") prior to generating the Toolkit license file.
