activePDF Announces Version 3.0 of its Free PDF Creator, PrimoPDF

Mission Viejo, September 21, 2006 – activePDF Inc., a leading provider of PDF generation, conversion and development tools, today announced the release of PrimoPDF 3.0, the totally free desktop tool for high-quality PDF creation that enables users to print to PDF from virtually any Windows application.

PrimoPDF offers the ability to optimize PDF output for screen, print, ebook, and prepress, secure PDF files with 40- or 128-bit encryption, and add document information to converted PDF files. Version 3.0 comprises full support for 64-bit machines, double byte character and non-TrueType font support, enhanced support for Microsoft Windows 98, ME, and NT and improved PDF output. Upon the first week of its launch, PrimoPDF 3.0 held the prestigious, number one position of ‘Most Popular Software’ among Download.com’s business software downloads.

Version 3.0 also introduces several enhancements to both PrimoPDF Enterprise and PrimoPDF API.

PrimoPDF 3.0 Enterprise offers the same high-quality PDF creation functionality available in the basic version of PrimoPDF while enabling organizations to seamlessly provide its features to multiple users. PrimoPDF 3.0 Enterprise includes the ability to create custom conversion profiles, post-conversion application launching, fast-user switching and multi-user support, and zero-interface conversion. Additionally, the availability of a MSI installer now allows companies to roll out PrimoPDF to its users, considerably simplifying the overall installation, customization, and management of PrimoPDF in a multi-user environment. This also results in faster software deployments across an organization, lower deployment and administration costs, and overall improvements in application reliability. Affordable pricing starts as low as $500 for a small business entity.

PrimoPDF 3.0 API permits programmatic access to all version 3.0 settings enabling developers to print to PDF from any application programmatically. A silent installer permits developers to seamlessly bundle and redistribute PrimoPDF functionality within their existing desktop or server-based applications without requiring a separate installation or any additional manual intervention. Cost-effective, flexible pricing starts as low as $1.50 per seat.
