Join the activePDF DocConverter v3.8 BETA Program Today!
The activePDF DocConverter 3.8 beta program is in full swing. Please contact
sales@activepdf.com if you are interested in participating - all customer
feedback is highly valuable and much appreciated. Version 3.8 features the
following updates:
- The activePDF License Administrator has been introduced to facilitate
license management and validation.
- Support for Microsoft Office 2007 documents has been added.
- Support for RTF file conversion has been added to the Default
processor. The RTFO processor and service have been removed.
- The DocConverter Maintenance application includes an option to allow or
disallow printing of tracked changes when producing 'Intelligent PDF'
files.
- An entry has been added to the log file to indicate when files are
rejected due to password restrictions. The log file is now updated with
a password rejection code of 50.
- By default, the Default processor is now set to check images (using
CheckImagesFirst) before attempting conversion.
activePDF DocConverter 3.8 and activePDF WebGrabber 3.8 are scheduled for
public release on April 16th. As is the case with activePDF Server 3.8, all
customers with valid Annual Subscription on applicable products are eligible
to receive the upgrade free of charge.
Upgrade to activePDF Server v3.8
Version 3.8 features significant enhancements in the performance, speed, and
overall reliability of activePDF Server. Encompassing a complete
architectural restructure that significantly decreases the number of
processing steps required while increasing reliability and consistency, the
new version also comprises the following feature additions:
- Faster conversion times (e.g. up to 30-40 times faster than v3.5.2 with
certain large conversion volumes).
- Smaller output files of higher quality.
- The ability to save and load specific server configurations
- A new, easy-to-use interface for the configuration editor
- Improved logging capabilities to ensure optimal document fidelity
- Enhanced fault tolerance with administration rights required for
installation
- Legacy support for all existing methods and complete documentation of all new methods is available in the updated user manual.
All customers with valid Annual Subscription are eligible to receive the
upgrade to v3.8 free of charge. If you would like to obtain this upgrade,
simply send an email to subscriptions@activepdf.com to verify your current
Annual Subscription status and request the upgrade.
